Social Media Policy

Last updated: June 2026

The official social media accounts of Carolyn Harris MP are managed and moderated solely by the Office of Carolyn Harris MP.

This policy applies to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X, including public comments, replies and private or direct messages.

Political debate is welcome. However, abuse will not be tolerated.

The Office reserves the right to hide or delete content and permanently block any account that:

  • threatens Carolyn Harris MP or a member of her staff;

  • directs abusive, intimidating or excessively offensive content towards Carolyn Harris MP or her staff;

  • engages in persistent harassment of Carolyn Harris MP or her staff;

  • publishes discriminatory or hateful content, including content targeting a person based on a protected characteristic; or

  • repeatedly engages in conduct that the Office reasonably considers abusive or threatening.

The Office may permanently block an account immediately and without prior warning. Decisions will be based on the nature, seriousness and context of the conduct.

Serious threats or potentially unlawful content may be reported to the relevant social media platform, the police or Parliamentary Security.

Being blocked from a social media account does not prevent anyone from contacting the Office of Carolyn Harris MP or accessing constituency services. Enquiries and casework can be submitted by emailing carolyn.harris.mp@parliament.uk.

The Office may update this policy when necessary. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
