About me

Swansea born and raised, it is the honour of a lifetime to represent the community I grew up in.

Since being elected MP for Swansea East in 2015, I have had a proud career as an all action campaigner. In Parliament, I have successfully worked to lower the stakes on fixed odd betting terminals (FOBTs) and created a children’s funeral fund for bereaved families in memory of my son Martin, who passed away when he was 8 years old. Currently, I champion the menopause revolution, seeking greater support for women experiencing symptoms and better awareness of the menopause.

In constituency, my ‘Everyone Deserves…’ campaign is focused on eliminating food poverty and holiday hunger. Throughout the school holidays the Swansea East community comes together and works with my team to ensure that families who might otherwise go without are supported with food hampers.
