Today I asked the Prime Minister if she will support my call for a Children’s Funeral Fund in next week’s Budget.
Her response was disappointing to say the least.
At the end of October I wrote to the Chancellor and asked him to include a Children’s Funeral Fund in the Budget. Since this letter the Leader of the House, Andrea Leadsom MP, has expressed her sympathy for fund, however the Prime Minister does not give such a positive response.
A Children’s Funeral Fund is estimated to cost £10 million, which may seem like a lot of money, but in the grand scheme of things is small change to the Government, that could at least relieve the financial burden from the shoulders of grieving parents.
