Carolyn Harris MP welcomes the Welsh Government’s intervention on the controversial waste incinerator in Swansea East.
The proposed incinerator in Clarion Close, Llansamlet has resulted in more than 2,500 complaints to Swansea Council’s planning committee.
Commenting on the decision, Carolyn
Harris MP said:
“I welcome the news that the Welsh Government are considering calling in plans for a controversial incinerator in Llansamlet.
“It was misguided to ever consider placing a waste incinerator so close to a densely populated area with schools, homes and nature reserves nearby.
“With such a vast number of concerns around pollution and health risks coming from the community, it is only right to call in the planning application”.
